The draw was made on Sunday after the conclusion of the final two quarter-final ties, the last to finish being the big shock of the round as Liverpool upset Arsenal to reach this stage of the competition for the first time since 2017. The Reds are currently without a permanent manager, having said goodbye to Matt Beard at the end of last month, but were able to defeat the high-flying Gunners on the road after an own goal by goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Chelsea and Manchester City also secured their places in the semi-finals thanks to wins on Sunday, the Blues narrowly defeating Crystal Palace after City had edged out another tight contest at home to Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Man Utd beat Sunderland, the only second-tier side remaining, on Saturday evening to continue their title defence.
